Penang Hospice Society / Events  / Charity Food Fair 2023

Who We Are

Since March 1992 hospice care has been given in the homes of patients who were being looked after by their families. Nurses and doctors along with trained volunteers assist with:

  • The relief of pain and other symptoms
  • Providing emotional & practical support
  • Teaching the family simple nursing care
  • Helping the family cope
  • Lending medical equipment
  • Bereavement support

Who is Eligible

Any person in Penang whose disease is not responding to curative treatment such as cancer, neurological, respiratory, cardiac or renal disease.

One requirement is that a member of family or some other person must be present to look after the patient as our service is only supportive.

How to Request

Your doctor can refer OR you or a family member can contact our Palliative Care Nurse. The referral can be made when the patient is at home or in a hospital.
