About Us

Helping Others Live Well

Our services are designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. With our multidisciplinary clinical team, our goal is to help reduce suffering and promote a better quality of life through the provision of medical resources, compassionate care, and relevant education.

Our Mission

Our Vision

Penang Hospice Society

How We Started

Prior to 1992, healthcare in Penang was confined to hospitals and clinics, with no professional medical support extending to patients’ homes. Recognising the profound challenges faced by patients and their families due to this gap, our founders were driven to establish the Hospice at Home Programme.

Their vision was to reduce suffering and enhance the quality of life for those battling serious illnesses, ensuring they received the necessary care and support outside of medical facilities.

The Evolution of Penang Hospice Society’s Hospice at Home Programme

Ensuring Dignity and Comfort for All

At the Penang Hospice Society, we are deeply committed to providing equal access to high-quality hospice and palliative care for our patients and their families. We provide:

“ Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual. ”
